The WHS RME, Sr. Program Manager will provide direct support and partnership to one or more of the North America Reliability & Maintenance Engineering regions, which may include North America Customer Fulfillment (NACF), Amazon Logistics (AMZL), Sort Center, Air, and Global Specialty Fulfillment & Retail (GSF). In addition to supporting an RME region from an execution standpoint, this role will also be responsible for engaging, collaborating and partnering with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) within Operations, Ops Construction, Ops Engineering, Worldwide Engineering, Research & Development, Suppliers, Amazon Robotics, Procurement, and key stakeholder teams to continually improve network standards, designs, systems and procedures. The role supports field and program execution while also acting as a technical program manager overseeing safety engineering processes, WHS best practices and capital projects. The role will support operationalizing the Prevention through Design (Ptd) process by identifying key inputs and outputs for the WHS RME team while standardizing new solutions and strategies across new site launches. Lastly, this role must have demonstrated skills in collaborating with stakeholders as a cross-functional lead owning Safety, data analytics, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), MHE conveyor systems, Reliability & Maintenance Engineering, Capital Project Development, Program & Project Management, Solutions Engineering and document technical writing.
Key job responsibilities
• Process Improvement: Systemically analyze and enhance RME WHS processes by identifying and leading gap analyses to improve team efficiencies and project delivery, reduce waste and improve Safety by delivering cost effective solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Collaboration: Partner with equipment OEMs, Ops Engineering, WWE, RME, Global Safety Engineering, and key stakeholder teams on equipment related incidents where design or retrofits may be necessary across multiple business units. Develop strong rapport and working relationship with RME and EHS leadership teams
• Program Management: Proactively communicate project status, risk analysis and risk mitigation plans. Concisely report out project risks to leadership and key stakeholders while fielding questions from management
• Risk Assessment: Lead assessments, i.e. FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) or FTA (Fault Tree Analysis,) to proactively identify and prioritize potential hazards and failures
• Documentation: Create and maintain safety documentation, including safety requirement specifications, safety case reports, proposals, SOPs and technical design documents
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant safety standards and regulations
• Leadership: Lead effective meetings by setting the objectives, including the appropriate stakeholders and driving detailed business and technical discussions/alignment. Document meeting discussions, decisions and future steps, ensuring alignment on expectations with internal partner teams and external vendors

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience leading process improvements
- Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment
- Experience in technical, standards, or program writing
- Experience in program implementation or overseeing authorized workers in the following programs: Fall Hazard Control, Electrical Safe Work, Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO), Conveyors and Machine Safeguarding, Confined Spaces, Hot Work and System Impairment, Fire Protection Systems, PIT, Aerial Lifts, Cranes, Hoisting and Rigging
- Analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability (RCA, 8D, etc.)
- 3+ years’ work experience in Engineering and/or WHS
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, supply chain or engineering field from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Have or working towards ASP, CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or CHMM certification and a working knowledge of CFR, ANSI, ISO, etc.
- Experience in building dashboards with automated reporting
- Six Sigma Belt or Green Belt certified
- Deep understanding of WHS regulatory requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
