Senior Production Manager - B Shift - WATERLOO (IA) PORK PLANT

Job Details:

SUMMARY:

Control expenses and assist in expense management.Ensure compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements.Interpret and enforce company policies.Maintain the non-union program.Assist in determining manpower needs and make recommendations.Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports for accurate reflection of conditions.Solve problems effectively with sound follow-up.Collaborate with department heads to meet production quality yields and metrics goals.Ensure maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product.Inspect and maintain high competence in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety.Manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors.Oversee all designated shift operations.Undertake any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the plant manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred.Experience: 5+ years meat industry experience; 5+ years supervisory experience in a meat processing facility (pork or beef preferred); knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations.Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of communicating effectively with all levels of Team Members, from hourly to upper management, and government officials.

Leadership, problem-solving, and team player skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage subordinate supervisors.Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Interview, hire, and train team members.Plan, assign, and direct work.Monitor and appraise work performance.Reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members.Address complaints and resolve problems.

Travel: 0-20%

Other Requirements:

Lead by example and delegate responsibility.Display sound judgment and decision-making skills.Efficient problem-solving with sound follow-up.Strong managerial skills necessary.Excellent safety and attendance records.Ability to work with department heads to meet safety, production, and quality goals.Responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality; all Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety.
