Reporting to the Site Director, the Sr. Production Manager leads all production operations to ensure safety, quality, output, and cost targets are consistently achieved. This role plays a critical part in shaping plant-wide performance by driving operational excellence, optimizing resource utilization, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a track record of delivering results in complex manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop production teams by setting clear expectations, aligning priorities, and ensuring optimal staffing and shift coverage.
• Champion a culture of safety, quality, and compliance, ensuring adherence to GMPs, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to support plant-wide initiatives and long-term operational goals.
• Analyze production systems and implement improvements to enhance throughput, reduce waste, and improve equipment reliability.
• Serve as a key decision-maker in resolving production and quality issues, leveraging data and root cause analysis.
• Oversee production documentation, inventory control, and resource planning to support seamless operations.
• Lead cost control efforts and identify opportunities for margin improvement through process optimization.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering leadership development and succession readiness.
• Partner with site leadership to align production strategies with broader business objectives.
• Actively participate in audits, safety programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and skills

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Food Science, or a related field.

Experience:
• Minimum of 8 years leading high-performing teams in manufacturing.
• At least 5 years in the food, chemical, or pharmaceutical industry (preferred).
• Experience with pharmaceutical excipients is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex operations with a focus on scalability and long-term growth.

Technical & Leadership Competencies:
• Deep understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and unit operations.
• Proven ability to lead change, influence cross-functional teams, and drive strategic initiatives.
• Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
• High level of ownership, resilience, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $91,404 to $154,009 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
