Caterpillar’s Mining Center of Excellence (MCOE) is seeking a data-driven, strategic thinker to join our Customer Solutions team. This role is pivotal in driving **Physical Availability** across global mining operations by enhancing product issue management, streamlining data reporting, and developing advanced analytics tools. You’ll be at the intersection of data science, business strategy, and cross-functional collaboration—helping improve product health and performance across Caterpillar’s mining portfolio.
**What you will do:**
+ **Global Product Issue Management**
+ Lead the collection, scoring, and prioritization of top product issues across Resource Industries (RI) regions.
+ Develop and maintain executive-level reporting for RI product groups, highlighting critical product health trends.
+ **Data Analysis & Visualization**
+ Analyze service and quality data to identify trends and opportunities for uptime improvement.
+ Build and maintain dashboards using tools like **Power BI** to enhance visibility and decision-making.
+ **Strategic Insights & Process Improvement**
+ Define and refine leading indicators to measure fleet availability and performance.
+ Continuously improve data collection and analysis processes, introducing new tools and methodologies.
+ **Stakeholder Collaboration**
+ Partner with internal teams, regional managers, and dealer networks to align on strategic direction for service data tools.
+ Act as a consultant to internal stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

**What skills you will have:**
**Technical Excellence:** Experience as a former **Technical Representative** or similar field-based role—someone who not only interprets data but also has direct exposure to day-to-day operational challenges. **Mining industry** experience is a strong asset, along with a solid understanding of **global quality standards** .
**Data Gathering & Analysis:** Strong **analytical mindset** with experience in data visualization and reporting (Power BI preferred). Familiarity with Caterpillar’s product reliability systems and proficiency with the tools.
**Customer Focus:** Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. A background in Caterpillar and dealer product support practices will set you apart.
**Service Excellence:** Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
**Consulting:** Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.
**Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
**Problem Solving:** Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
**Relationship Management** : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
**Additional Information:**
This position requires the candidate **to work full-time at the Tucson, AZ or Peoria, IL office.**
This position requires up to 10 – 25 % travel.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
