The opportunity

We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join QBE as a Senior Product & Portfolio Lead. This is a key role responsible for overseeing the performance and development of our intermediated motor insurance product lines — both private and commercial. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping product strategy, driving portfolio outcomes, and leading cross-functional initiatives that align with our business goals and risk frameworks.

Your new role

As the Senior Product & Portfolio Lead, you will:

Lead the full product lifecycle — from design and development to enhancements and maintenanceManage complex underwriting referrals and ensure alignment with risk appetite and guidelinesOversee implementation of product changes, including PDS and underwriting updatesMonitor and optimise portfolio performance, including financial outcomes, claims trends, and exposure managementLead customer, product, and distribution strategy developmentSupport technical pricing reviews and implement tactical pricing changesCollaborate with underwriting, pricing, claims, risk, and distribution teams to deliver improvementsProvide leadership and support to a direct report, fostering capability development and delivery of initiativesAct as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex product and portfolio issues

About you

You bring a strong mix of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a collaborative mindset. You’re passionate about delivering product and portfolio outcomes and thrive in a role that blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Strong experience in general insurance, with a focus on product and/or portfolio managementProven experience managing motor portfolios, or a solid background in motor underwritingStrong understanding of both private and commercial motor insuranceDemonstrated ability to lead product development, pricing reviews, or strategic planningExperience engaging with stakeholders across underwriting, distribution, pricing, claims, risk, and complianceA people leader who can coach, mentor, and build team capability
