The opportunity
We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join QBE as a Senior Product & Portfolio Lead. This is a key role responsible for overseeing the performance and development of our commercial packages portfolio. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping product strategy, driving portfolio outcomes, and leading cross-functional initiatives that align with our business goals and risk frameworks.
Your new role
As the Senior Product & Portfolio Lead, you will:
Lead initiatives across the product lifecycle including design, development, enhancements, and maintenance, while ensuring product changes such as policy wording and underwriting guidelines are effectively implemented.Assess complex underwriting referrals to ensure alignment with risk appetite, authority limits, and underwriting standards, and collaborate with actuarial teams to interpret catastrophe model outputs.Identify and resolve product and pricing system issues, support technical pricing reviews, and lead the implementation of tactical pricing adjustments.Facilitate broker and partner communications, deliver product training, and oversee intermediary performance reviews and facility arrangements to ensure alignment with portfolio objectives.Monitor and optimise portfolio performance including financial outcomes, claims trends, and exposure, while leading the development of customer, product, and distribution strategies.Mentor direct reports, collaborate across underwriting, pricing, claims, risk, and distribution teams, contribute to strategic planning forums, and act as a subject matter expert for complex product and portfolio issues.About you

Strong experience in general insurance, with a focus on product and/or portfolio managementProven experience managing commercial portfolios, or a solid background in commercial packages underwritingDemonstrated ability to lead product development, pricing reviews, or strategic planningExperience engaging with stakeholders across underwriting, distribution, pricing, claims, risk, and complianceA people leader who can coach, mentor, and build team capabilityAbout QBE
