Special Projects is seeking a founding member of our team who is an experienced product manager in a brand new business unit that will serve both consumers and enterprise customers. We’re looking for someone who is fast, flexible, innovates, and loves solving hard problems!

Key job responsibilities
- Own the development and maintenance of product vision and feature requirements documents that clearly articulate customer value propositions and technical requirements for the new product.
- Work closely with UX designers and engineering teams to specify user experiences, operational flows, and documentation that meet customer needs while ensuring technical feasibility.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for each feature, translating customer requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Lead the feature roadmap development process by gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders including customers, regional teams, business development teams, and solutions architects.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with adjacent product teams to ensure seamless integration between the Special Projects team and other Amazon business units.
- Manage security, legal, and privacy reviews for all features, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Guide the development of UX mockups and technical documentation while providing ongoing support to engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Develop and deliver clear, compelling customer messaging and presentation materials for both end-customers and distributors.
- Lead customer and distributor interactions through various channels to effectively communicate feature capabilities and roadmap plans.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills in assessing development costs, timelines, and technical trade-offs while maintaining focus on customer value.
A day in the life
As the single threaded owner of this project, you will work with customers to deeply understand customer needs, define the end-to-end product lifecycle from conceptualization through launch, working closely with engineering teams, UX designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The role requires deep collaboration with Alexa, AWS Sales, Security, and Devices teams to ensure a high-quality product. You be working with a team of top-notch business and technical partners and collaborating with our systems, test, safety and security teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience with end to end product delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with concepts such as system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making
- Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
- Experience working directly with Engineers on web and mobile application and development
- Strong track record in roadmap planning and feature prioritization for consumer-facing applications
- Proven experience in cross-functional team coordination and stakeholder management
- Excellence in technical documentation and verbal communication across technical and business audiences
- Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture
- Knowledge of web security best practices and compliance requirements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
