Senior Product Manager - Developer Architect

Within the Security Customer Experience Engineering (CXE), our App Assure team builds strategic partnerships with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to drive innovation across the Microsoft Security ecosystem. We enable partners to adopt our latest product innovations and influence product roadmaps by testing new functionalities with key ISVs. As part of the Microsoft Security engineering team, we have unique opportunities to support production at scale and collaborate across Microsoft to deliver impactful solutions. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager-Developer Architect with deep technical experience in cloud-scale data platforms, connector design, and agent development. This role is instrumental in guiding top ISVs to build third-party agents and analytics pipelines on Microsoft Sentinel’s modern data lake infrastructure, leveraging Spark, KQL, and ML-based models for advanced threat detection and investigation workflows. The focus is on enabling scalable, production-grade integrations and agents for Sentinel’s data lake, supporting extensibility across Copilot for Security and other Cloud Ecosystem Security (CES) products. We prioritize partnerships that inform our product roadmap based on real-world integration requirements, with emphasis on APIs and extensibility. In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day. **Responsibilities** + Sentinel data lake Developer Enablement: Architect and guide ISVs in building third-party agents and analytics pipelines on Sentinel’s modern data lake infrastructure, leveraging Spark, KQL, and ML-based models for advanced threat detection and investigation workflows + 3rd party Connector Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, production-grade connectors and integrations between Microsoft Security products (such as Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR) and third-party ISV solutions, ensuring seamless data ingestion, incident synchronization, and automated event management. + Core Networking Experience: Demonstrated technical proficiency and deep passion for core networking technologies across on-premises and cloud environments, including DHCP, VLANs, IPsec, and BGP. + Architecture design: help our engineering teams design scalable extensibility frameworks by prioritizing modular APIs, standardized interfaces and reusable components over fragmented custom solutions, ensuring long-term adaptability and reduced maintenance overhead. This approach minimizes technical debt from one-off integrations. + Strategic Investment: Serve as an architecture point of contact into the Microsoft Security engineering teams for select ISVs and be responsible for delivering architecture workshops and design sessions. Collaborate with cross-organization partners to evaluate trade-offs and prioritize investments in alignment with company objectives. Guide roadmap prioritization to achieve success criteria and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). + Customer-Centric Insights: Proactively anticipate customer needs and market opportunities through quantitative and qualitative analyses. Identify patterns across a portfolio of feature areas and define the impact and prioritization of challenges. Leverage data-driven insights to guide decision-making. You will deliver product specific ‘Outside/In’ sessions through a formal feedback program, this provides our PM teams with an external perspective on their feature’s vision, specifications, and architecture – both for the ISV integrating and the customer using the relevant feature/integration. + Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership within the team, addressing challenges and fostering a shared vision. Collaborate effectively to gain alignment and buy-in from group managers and other leaders. Rally the team around a common product direction. + End-to-End Vision: Collaborate closely with the Feature Product Managers, Business Development, and other customer focused architects to drive the end-to-end product vision. Advocate priorities and resources, working across divisional boundaries to ensure successful execution. + Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders, including strategic leadership and early adopting ISVs and Customers, to gather input and garner support for product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Work with Product Marketing, Business Planning, and Engineering to define product integration release criteria, customer acquisition strategies, and content creation. Strategize and lead the transition of ISV feature integrations from private preview to public preview and then to general availability. + Effective Communication: Communicate the product strategy to both internal and external audiences using various methods, including conference presentations and collaboration with partner organizations. Build consensus and alignment around the product vision. Embody our Culture (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/about/corporate-values) and Values (https://careers.microsoft.com/us/en/culture) **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years of experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience. + 3+ years of experience delivering architecture design workshops. + 3+ years of experience managing ISV (Independent Software Vendor) partnerships. + 3+ years of experience developing a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution. **Other Requirements:** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: + **Microsoft Cloud Background Check:** This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Prefered Qualifications:** + 3+ years of recent experience in technical roles in Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, Data Security & Privacy. + Proven experience developing and deploying production-grade connectors and integrations with Microsoft Security products (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR), including proficiency in data ingestion, incident synchronization, and event management. + Proficiency in API design, extensibility frameworks, and cloud-based architectures, with a track record of building scalable integration solutions. + Hands-on experience implementing AI-driven automation and orchestration for security workflows using Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate, or similar tools. + Advanced knowledge of operating system internals and security mechanisms, including OS mitigations across Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, and iOS platforms. + Experience with system administration in large enterprise environments, including Windows/Linux servers, network/cloud administration, and threat intelligence curation. + Familiarity with Microsoft 365 products (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Entra ID) and reporting tools like Power BI, Dynamics 365, and Excel. + Additional technical degrees or cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, CEH, GIAC). + Demostrated problem-solving, strategic thinking, and ability to evaluate and communicate customer needs and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. + Proven track record of cross-team collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of high-impact initiatives. + Highly adaptable to change, with effective communication and interpersonal skills tailored to diverse audiences including strategic executives. Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
