about this team
From concept through to pre-production stage, Product Development is the front-line regarding communication with the finished goods vendor base, launching sketches, requesting sampling, fitting product, and keeping an accurate data library of the life cycle of a product. Product Development is a truly cross functional working group that pivot to partners such as Design, Concept, Global Fit, Technical Development, Quality, Merchandising, Finished Goods Sourcing, Raw Materials, and Go To Market operations to deliver a commercially ready product to our buying teams.

core responsibilities
The Senior Product Developer is responsible to drive the commercialization of best-in-class product in partnership with creative and strategic counterparts, balancing function, time, cost, and quality while delivering design intent. Reference product road maps, industry standards and drive team project management expertise to deliver premium, functional, and innovative product fit for production.
Complete and manage style BOM initiation for mid to high complexity styles from concept through to production readinessMaintain data integrity in Flex PLM and other relevant systemsOrganize daily workflow that adheres to GTM deliverables & development timelinesCollaborate with internal and external resources (Labs, vendor co-creation) to solve innovation opportunities both during and outside of key calendar milestonesMentor and train team on daily activity executionEnable communication and influence cross-functional partners for issue resolution at all levelsEducate and encourage business-oriented perspectives focused on big picture prioritiesGain support and enrollment of the intended audience, peers, and stakeholders through both verbal and visual communication and educationUnderstands the positions of others and builds commitment to the recommended course of actionTrack and conduct risk assessments and identify High Attention Styles (HAS) based on vendor, style, and materialsPresent and advice on style development status at key product meetingsGenerates new and feasible ways of workingPartner with cross-functional peers to optimize product through guest insightsProactive to initiate research and development by looking to competitive landscape through market research, trend analysis and vendor showroomsBuild relationships with key vendors to ensure that standardized ways of working and communication are clear and delivered
qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience; focused training in Technical Design, Product Management, Product Development or relevant experience preferred8+ years minimum industry experience (preferably within the Product Development, Product Management or Sourcing departments)Proficiency in MS office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)Proficiency with Flex PLM or similar PLM software is recommended Familiarity or proficiency with Gerber Pattern Making and/or 3D software (CLO, Browzwear) is an assetStrong applied comprehension of end-to-end product life cycleAttention to detail, initiative, organization, strong verbal, and written communication skillsManage multiple tasks and competing prioritiesPracticed in the art of mentoring and training othersEngage and enroll cross-functional peers and leadership at product presentationsSelf-motivated, strong sense of urgency, and a collaborative mindset

compensation and benefits package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $119,200-$156,500annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and, subject to program eligibility requirements.
