Role Overview The Senior Procurement Manager – Specialty and Non-Specialty Courier Services will lead the procurement strategy and execution for courier services supporting GSK’s Research & Development (R&D) operations globally. This role focuses on delivering value through cost optimization, service excellence, risk mitigation and innovation in alignment with the R&D and Supply Chain Strategy. Working closely with R&D, Supply Chain stakeholders and strategic suppliers, the Senior Procurement Manager ensures a resilient, compliant and efficient courier service network that supports critical scientific operations. This role does not have direct reports but requires strong cross-functional collaboration and influence across a matrix organisation. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy for specialty and non-specialty courier services aligned with the R&D Logistics Enablement Strategy and GSK’s overall business objectives. Partner closely with R&D and Supply Chain stakeholders to understand evolving needs, manage demand and ensure service levels meet scientific and regulatory requirements. Lead supplier selection, tendering, and contracting activities, ensuring compliance with GSK procurement policies and standards. Drive cost optimization initiatives through market analysis, benchmarking and innovative sourcing approaches. Establish and manage strong supplier relationships emphasising continuous improvement, innovation, sustainability and risk management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Legal, Finance, and Compliance to align on contractual, regulatory and financial requirements. Monitor supplier performance via SLAs and KPIs, proactively addressing issues and driving continuous improvement. Embed procurement compliance, third-party risk management and ethical sourcing principles across all activities. Support the integration of sustainability goals into procurement decisions for courier services, contributing to GSK’s broader environmental commitments. Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice exchange across global procurement, Supply Chain and R&D networks. Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bio Science, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field. Proven experience managing procurement categories, preferably R&D or Logistics. Strong understanding of specialty courier requirements including temperature-controlled shipments, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix organisation. Expertise in category strategy development, strategic sourcing, tendering and contract management. Track record of delivering cost optimisation and service improvements in a global context. Experience with procurement compliance, third-party risk management and ethical sourcing practices. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with e-sourcing and procurement tools. Successful management of complex projects and change initiatives in a global matrix environment. Personal Attributes Energetic, results-driven leader with strong commercial and business acumen.
