Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon, an RTX business, is seeking a **Senior Principal Systems Engineer** to join our Systems Engineering team. Our engineers provide technical direction and design support for agile software development teams and collaborate across engineering disciplines. They perform technical analyses and define system functionality by developing system use cases, capability and feature designs, system interfaces, and acceptance criteria for verification. To succeed in this role, you must have strong experience with the systems engineering development lifecycle, particularly within an Agile methodology. **What you will do** + Conduct technical analyses to define system capabilities and features through detailed analysis of customer requirements and user stories + Provide technical direction to agile development teams through capabilities, features and systems design artifacts + Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively explain complex topics to multi discipline development teams + Deliver engineering support and technical guidance during the program’s development, integration, and test phases—including architecture, design and acceptance criteria development + Participate in and contribute to technical reviews and technical interchange meetings throughout the program lifecycle + Communicate emerging risks and concerns to leadership and stakeholders, offering clear pathways for awareness and resolution + Utilize strong communication skills and experience, particularly in translating complex technical issues into mission readiness impacts + **Obtain a polygraph after start** **Qualifications You Must Have** + Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant engineering experience + Experience with development of large-scale software data processing system architectures, with a focus on system-level interfaces. + Experience with the full systems engineering lifecycle, including systems engineering roles and functions, and with developing and documenting Architecture Roadmaps and Concept of Operations (CONOPS). + Experience with requirements development and management, functional analysis and synthesis, interface definition, verification and validation, and backlog management and grooming in JIRA. + Experience with Agile development toolsets such as JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket. **Qualifications We Prefer** + Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile software development environment + Possessing oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and in customer interchange meetings + Experience in agile software development activities, including system level design specification and integration test and verification activities (full SW life cycle as an SE) + Experience in development of containerized software system cloud architectures and cloud environments + Understanding of Multi-INT Sensemaking, Orchestration, and Processing concepts and IC GEOINT message formats and products + Experience using MBSE processes and tools to capture digital systems design and elaboration in Cameo or similar tools **What We Offer** + Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
