We are looking for you to join our team as a Senior Principal Performance Systems Engineer to join our Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors (MLSS) organization. The MLSS organization within Northrop Grumman Mission Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. You will be supporting the integration and verification of the most advanced EW system ever deployed on a Naval platform. This position is based out of Linthicum, MD and will be 100% on-site.
What You’ll get to Do:
As the Senior Principal Performance Systems Engineer for RF sensors you will work on some of the most advanced systems in the U.S. arsenal. These include radars for air dominance platforms (such as the F-22, F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, F-16), bomber and strike programs (such as B-1B), airborne / maritime / ground-based surveillance missions (E-3 AWACS, E-7 MESA, TPS-80 G/ATOR, SEWIP Block 3 and UAV systems such as Global Hawk), as well as restricted programs and missions. We offer the opportunity to join a team to solve problems in the field and drive new solutions into next generation radar systems and air superiority platforms.
Develop data analysis products that directly support an integration and test program on behalf of the Navy.
Research into the intricacies of test data, uncovering insights that drive innovation and excellence.
Operate RF test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and IQ recorders in support of system and subsystem testing.
Optimize an existing MATLAB Automated Test Environment (MATE) test execution application for coverage, speed, reliability, automation, and hardware abstraction.
Mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and passion to cultivate future leaders in the field.
Present your analysis results to senior leaders and customers, highlighting the impact of your work
Developing workflows that handle testing tasks with minimal human intervention for test automation.
Running tests on the unit under test (UUT) to collect test artifacts for Test execution.
Managing test execution across different Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-loop (SIL) environments for test orchestration.
Reviewing test artifacts to determine whether the UUT meets system requirements for test evaluation.
Work independently with minimal direction, exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives for assignments.
This position is contingent upon contract award and the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, master's degree with 6 years of experience or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
U.S Citizenship is required.
A current / active DoD Secret Clearance.
4 years of experience designing, integrating, testing or troubleshooting Electronic Warfare (EW) or Radar Systems.
2 years of experience with analyzing data collected on Electronic Warfare (EW) or Radar Systems.
4 years of demonstrated proficiency in the MATLAB programming environment.
1 year of experience developing and utilizing tools to support and enhance analytical tasks.
1 year of experience with software version control systems (Git or Bitbucket).
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.
A current / active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher.
2 years of experience with Digital Signal Processing and algorithm development.
2 years of experience with real-time embedded systems development and testing.
2 years of experience with EA/EW systems.
1 year of experience with state estimation or tracking systems.
1 year of experience with firmware / FPGA development.
1 year of experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
1 year of experience with RF Test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and IQ recorders.
