Senior Principal NDT Tech
**Job Overview:** The Senior Principal NDT Tech completes assignments and directs the work activities of others in the inspection discipline. They can solve unique and complex problems and act as a subject matter expert related to nondestructive testing. The Senior Principal NDT Tech can work autonomously within established procedures and practices. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + Determine conformity/non-conformity flaws per relevant codes or standards and report accurately + Perform NDT examination of welds and materials by any one of the following methods and qualifications (i.e., UT, PT, MT, RT, PAUT & ET) in accordance with a written Project NDT Plan, NDT Procedures, code, and contractual specification + Execute the examination in accordance with approved NDT procedures and internationally recognized codes/specs + Determine acceptance/rejection based on the defined criteria + Liaise with the assigned Quality Inspector to determine the completion of the assigned task + Report conforming work and identify non-conforming work for rectification + Ensure rectified work is inspected by the QC Inspector prior to examination by the original NDT Method + Perform duties ethically and safely in accordance with the professional occupation guidelines + Hands-on experience with the most current digital equipment + Ensure proper maintenance of NDT equipment and maintain equipment certification records + Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern + Work independently but also with remote teams of NDT personnel + Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment (If necessary) + Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management + Complete inspecting duties, organize and generate reports pertaining to inspection and evaluation + Prepare reports on all testing and evaluations done + Ensure that the equipment used for testing is functioning to its maximum and according to safety regulations + Demonstrate excellent communication skills and professionalism + Promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externally + Enforce and abide by the requirements of safe operation and personal safety using required Personal Protective Equipment and safe work practices + Mentor and train coworkers assigned to you through on-the-job training in safe work practices, technical skills, and compliance with company policy + Prepare NDT reports on software by using a computer 1. Supervise NDT Operations for the proper and timely execution of NDT in respect to quality and quantity. 2. Ensure NDT procedures are compliant to code and customer requirements. Preparation & seeking approvals of project specific NDT procedure (as necessary), from PMT/Customer. 3. Planning of NDT Equipment’s & Accessories, consumables and calibration blocks for yard and offshore scope. 4. Determine adequacy of manpower requirement in relationship to the Histogram. 5. Co-ordinate with QA / QC and Production Personnel regarding schedule of NDT activities. 6. Development of New NDT techniques & procedure demonstration to Client. 7. Active support to BIDs in terms of NDT requirement. 8. Review of vendor NDE documents 9. Interpret radiographs as per code and customer specification. 10. Co-ordinate NDT Personnel Industrial Qualification, Examination, Training and Renewals that are externally organized. 11. Preparation & delivery of various training modules related to NDT, Such as NDT familiarization, ASNT L1 & L2, etc. 12. Performing audits to verify & monitor that the NDT sub-contractors work to procedure / Manuals / Statutory regulations. 13. Develop technical capability consistent with market trends and opportunities and in line with the company’s Business Plan (e.g. Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and ultrasonic Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD)). 14. Cross check job performed by Operators / Technicians. **Essential Qualifications and Education:** + High School Diploma or degree + 10+ years’ experience as an inspector in relevant methods ASNT, PCN, or CSWIP Level II or Level III Qualification + Proficient with computer and Microsoft programs + Be occupationally Qualified to internationally recognized schemes to determine competency (i.e., PCN, CSWIP, ASNT, etc.) requirement + Be proficient in assessing examination results accurately, sentencing welds, and reporting same, according to the relevant code/spec acceptance criteria \#LI-DL1 Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
