Senior Principal Materials Specialist
**Job Overview:** The Senior Principal Materials Specialist is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business. They are considered a specialist in the field of Material Management, and they offer a broad knowledge base about the Supply Chain function. They impact the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and work within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Materials Specialist role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Material Management challenges. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + Oversee materials management specialists and support issue resolution + Ensure the OS&D process is being followed + Ensure all Unifi prosses are being followed and perform audits + Liaise with Material Controls to coordinate requestions, BOM (Bill of Materials), and material allocation to Construction/ Fabrication or 3rd Party Subcontractors + Work assigned projects to establish the project’s process based on Unifi processes + May be selectively asked to participate in projects to assess or develop new tools + May be identified as Key Super User for the Area + Understand and work with Materials Management systems (Smart Materials) and EDMS (iDocs) + Responsible for project set-up within Materials Management + Require specialized depth and breadth of expertise in Materials management + Interpret internal or external business issues and recommends best practices + Solve complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions + Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations, and leads functional teams deployed at multiple locations + Manage the interface and drives discussion of any Material management open issues until conclusion between the company, Construction, Fabrication, and Client, as required + Lead Materials Core Team and collaborate with the engineering team to interpret engineering requirements + Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers through buyers and expeditors + Work with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead parts, and inspection requirements + Accountable for successful Control of warehouse operations, including receipt & issuance of Materials to the project on time + Smart Materials (SMAT) reporting and management + Actively solve Materials Management related issues by using problem-solving skills + Execute the accurate and proper discharge of surplus materials + Work in the home office and then travel to the field to provide Materials Management consistency **Essential Qualifications and Education:** + Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management (or a relevant discipline) or HSD/GED/IGCSE with 15 years of relevant experience + 10-16 years of relevant experience + Specific Industry Training, Knowledge of the Engineering / Petrochemical industry, or General Engineering/Mechanical background + Exceptional knowledge of Material Management Systems, preferably Smart Materials + Self-motivated, highly focused, and driven by results + Able to demonstrate excellent organization and communication skills + Pay attention to detail while operating with flexibility and adaptability + Familiar with other non-MM technologies that are used to support the project + Have a thorough understanding of receiving, stock, and issuing process + Well-versed in inventory and materials management systems used to support the process \#LI-FM1 Lutech Resources has over 25 years’ experience providing tailor made recruitment and integrated resource management to leading Engineering, Energy and Manufacturing sector companies worldwide.
