Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an experienced Senior Principal Software Engineer - Transformations Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
The selected candidate will develop scripts and verification procedures, integrate, test and troubleshoot Java applications, microservices and web based applications.
Essential Functions:
Work with a team of developers and integrators focused on delivering software products as part of an IFC.Work in a process-oriented software development environment across the software lifecycleParticipate in Interface Control Document (ICD) working groups to provide feedback on interface changesTroubleshoot issues to determine if issue is with transformations, canonical or in software dependenciesInterface/Collaborate across Operating Units and Tech Areas to help SEIT shape ICDsMentor team members on transformation process for ADD-AOversee/Review transformation generation and code updates and look for ways to automate this process as much as possibleThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels. Candidate must be able to work closely with software developers and system engineers across multiple Tech Areas/IPTs and Operating Units.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PHD in STEM with 4 year of related engineering experienceFamiliar with all ICDs used by ADD-A and their dependenciesFamiliar with the transformation process5+ years of experience with Java, XML and XSD5+ years of experience integrating and troubleshooting transformations, native and canonical code and building software products that references those products2+ years of experience with generating transformations and creating/updating canonicals2+ years of experience with JAXB and DozerMapperFamiliar with the differences between the ICDs of ADD-A and ADD-C/ADD-G and understands the impacts to changes made to an ICD for ADD-A on ADD-C and ADD-G as some of the ICDs are sharedExperience working with (big and small) SEIT to develop Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)Active DoD Top Secret clearance and must be able to obtain and maintain program accessExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with engineers of all levelsPreferred Qualifications:
Already has obtained Program Access (PAR)Understands the build process for ADD-A and ADD-C/ADD-G to be able to communicate with ADD-C/ADD-G build manager on needed/forthcoming changes to their baselinesUnderstands the impact of ICD changes on the external applicationsSalary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
