Inviting applications for the role of Senior Principal Consultant- Datacentres Operations Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Datacentres Operations Lead to lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions across our organization. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and innovation.

Responsibilities

Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and VMware/Hyper-V environments.

Expertise in VMware vSphere Suite: Including vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, and vSAN for managing virtualized compute and storage environments.

VMware NSX: Experience with network virtualization, micro-segmentation, and software-defined networking (SDN) using NSX.

VMware vRealize Suite: Familiarity with vRealize Operations (vROps), vRealize Automation (vRA), and Log Insight for performance monitoring, automation, and log analytics.

Capacity Planning Resource Optimization: Skilled in analyzing workloads, right-sizing VMs, and optimizing resource allocation across clusters.

Disaster Recovery High Availability: Experience with VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and configuring HA/DRS clusters for business continuity.

Patch Management Lifecycle: Proficient in using VMware Lifecycle Manager (vLCM) for patching, upgrades, and compliance.

Automation Scripting: Ability to automate tasks using PowerCLI, vRO workflows, or integration with tools like Ansible and Terraform.

Strong understanding of network architecture, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and SD-WAN.

Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark).

Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.

Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Kentik, Splunk, or New Relic.

Expertise in SAN/NAS storage systems, backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).

Hands-on experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms like ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Jira Service Management.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and troubleshooting. Use of cloud governance frameworks for cost control, policy enforcement, and resource tagging.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

Strong communicator – English in spoken and written form

Excellent hand ons and knowledge on Patch management, VMware, Hand scripting

Monitor and improve the performance and reliability of data centre infrastructure

Good exposure on capacity planning and overall hardware management skills Experience in ITSM

Excellent knowledge on observability standards
