The role

As a Senior Platform Engineer in our Release Engineering team, you will focus on building developer tooling, not individual pipelines. Your work will power CI/CD for 1,000+ engineers across HelloFresh, enabling safe, automated, and scalable releases.

We design and maintain the frameworks, CLIs, and internal platforms that make delivery effortless and reliable. Beyond managing tools like GitHub Actions, Artifactory, and ArgoCD, you will contribute to our in‑house solutions—from service bootstrap CLIs to our Open Application Model (OAM) implementation that abstracts Kubernetes complexity. Our platform also supports fully automated progressive rollouts with Bring Your Own Metrics (BYOM) capabilities, giving teams the confidence to ship at speed.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the developer experience for a large organization while still having a direct impact on day‑to‑day operations.

What you’ll do Build and evolve internal developer tooling to enable fast, reliable, and low‑risk software delivery, helping product teams ship more often with higher confidence Develop solutions that minimize or eliminate downtime during infrastructure maintenance (e.g., automated strategies for RDS upgrades) Advance our OAM‑based approach to abstract Kubernetes complexity and standardize deployment practices across the organization Collaborate closely with other squads in the Reliability Platform Tribe and the Foundations Alliance to deliver a cohesive, end‑to‑end platform for the entire HelloFresh Group Consult, guide, and educate engineering teams on CI/CD best practices and platform capabilities, fostering a culture of safe and efficient releases What you’ll bring Solid experience in building or maintaining developer platforms, CI/CD systems, or internal tooling in a cloud‑native environment Familiarity with modern software delivery practices such as GitOps, progressive delivery, automated verifications, and infrastructure‑as‑code Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and understanding of cloud‑native architecture patterns Strong understanding of Kubernetes and containerized workloads, ideally with experience abstracting complexity for developers A proactive, curious mindset with a willingness to learn and continuously improve both the platform and your own skills Ability to collaborate across squads and domains, consult with development teams, and translate platform concepts into actionable guidance What we offer  Health - You’re covered from your first day with private health insurance Hybrid Working Schedule - We work in-office 4 days a week to align on goals, with flexible hours to support work-life balance and personal needs Holidays - You receive 26 days of paid vacation each year, providing you time to rest and recharge Learning and Development - An annual Learning & Development budget and a Mentoring Program to support your ongoing professional growth Employee Referral Program - Our team members can participate in our internal employee referral program and receive a bonus for recommending successful candidates to open roles Daily Comforts - Free coffee, drinks, and fresh fruit are available to keep you refreshed throughout the day
