Senior Planner

Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Senior Planner. 

The expected annual salary range for this role is $95737.5 -  $105,000 a year.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    The Senior Production Planner will generate, maintain and follow-up production schedules for multiple lines of the assigned area, based on customer demand, shortages, lead time, capacity and other internal targets and considerations, ensuring the supply of components to the customer, whether internal or external, on quantity & on time. This is a key position of a High-Performance Work Team (HPWT) and will be leading actions and follow-up meetings with different departments to ensure KPI’s are at target levels (Service. Quality, Safety, Inventory, Flex Productivity).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•    Provide analysis of capacity by area, line, machine, and product based on demand.
•    Prioritizing planning of multiple lines in operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay to meet target delivery. 
•    Allocate materials based on prescribed methodology and provide timely delivery to customers.
•    Partner and coordinate the flow of work within or between departments to expedite production and material flow.
•    Establish priorities for specific customer orders, and revise schedule according to work order specifications, and availability or capability of employees, parts, materials, machines, and equipment. 
•    Ensure that materials, supplies, and services are provided by supplier in support of internal and external customer requirements. 
•    Generate work orders and release them to the shop floor according to production plan. As well as action plans to achieve productivity results. 
•    Determine manpower, equipment, and raw materials constraints.
•    Monitor work orders to ensure efficiency and adequate delivery based on customer need. 
•    Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
•    Collaborate with production, tool room, purchasing, OPEX, quality control, warehouse, and other staff to achieve the results.
•    Lead and implement best practices, and procedures, and select alternative methods where appropriate to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through service, productivity, and cycle time reduction goals. 
•    Ensure KPI’s are met for assigned area.
•    Level production based on constraints and as needed to meet the customer´s expectations.
•    Follow-up on quality, manpower and other issues proactively to meet production schedule targets.
•    On a weekly basis each planner must re-schedule past due orders per capacity and constraints.
•    Drive part deliveries to minimize part shortages. 
•    Analyze inventory levels and meet days on hand (DOH) objectives. 
•    Participate in Annual Physical Inventory and assist with cycle count, inventory adjustments, and root cause analysis to prevent inventory errors. 
•    Participate in Eaton continuous improvement programs and actively seek continuous improvement opportunities. 
•    Support plant lean, safety, quality, and continuous improvement efforts. 
•    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
•    4+ years’ experience of material planning within a manufacturing production environment.
•    No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Camarillo, CA will be considered for this position.
•    Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

•    Comprehensive knowledge of materials planning and inventory control processes.
•    Thorough knowledge of material planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.
•    Understanding of Supply Chain Management operations concept surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving.
•    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction concepts and tool sets as they relate to material management.
•    Previous Aerospace experience.  
•    Proven experience in Inventory management .
•    Previous SAP / ERP Knowledge .
•    MRP and Planning parameters knowledge. 
•    APICS / CPIM Certified a plus.
•    Demand and Capacity Planning .
•    Leadership skills with effective English communication skills. 
•    Bi-lingual Spanish- English communication skills .
