Senior Placement Specialist
We will count on you to:
Use information about market practices, pricing and underwriting policies to match clients' insurance needs with appropriate carrier coverage. Coordinate with advisors and client executives to evaluate and select the best insurance carrier coverage quotes for clients. Manage large-scale strategic projects, coach team members, and solve complex problems. Instruct placement strategy by utilizing risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop placement solutions that meet complex client needs. Develop methods for the go-to-market strategy and provide input on pricing of services supporting client retention and new business production. Guide strong working relations with carriers and or underwriters to create innovative approaches to unique client needs and provide cohesive client service. Audit and finalize commission structure with underwriter in accordance with client direction and agreement. Achieve a thorough understanding of changing insurance and risk market conditions, and inform client teams, clients, and carriers of major developments affecting various types of coverage. Participate in internal networks. Devise new products and innovative solutions that address complex client needs. Lead complex placement/technical support activities on big accounts, such as ensuring procedural compliance, reviewing data and updating annual renewal exhibits, maintaining accurate placement system entries, to ensure contract execution as required. Consult management on highly complex client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and drive development of solutions to drive excellence in customer service.
What you need to have:
Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Risk Management and Insurance, Economics, or a related field plus ten (10) years of experience in the position offered or a related position. Employer will accept three (3) years of university-level studies in Risk Management and Insurance, Economics, or a related field plus two (2) additional years of related experience in meeting the Bachelor's degree requirement. Must have seven (7) years of experience with all of the following: Devising go-to-market commercial insurance strategy, advocating for the value of placement function and participating within pricing of services as applicable; Instructing the submission of coverage specifications and obtaining quotes from carriers based upon the “assist, advise, and assume” transaction model; Consulting with clients’ executives and client teams to support client retention and new business production; Inspecting the binding of coverage and ensuring the accuracy of placement binders; Reporting on all claims notifications and notices of cancelation; Driving and building relationships with practice, insurance markets, clients, carriers and/or underwriters to provide cohesive client service; Providing consulting management on complex client issues or trends and participating in solutions development; Managing complex book of 60 or more commercial insurance casualty accounts on annual basis; Communicating changes in insurance and risk management market conditions affecting various types of products/coverage to client executives, client advisors, and/or clients; Formulating placement strategy by utilizing risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop solutions that meet difficult client needs; Using risk expertise to analyze clients’ current and historical exposures, develop solutions, solicit quotes, negotiate with panel markets, analyze comparisons, articulate impact of options and make recommendations to client’s team and client. Travel requirement: Up to 25% domestic and international travel is required to various and unanticipated company and client sites.
