Senior Physical Design CAD - Construction

Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide and we are looking for passionate, high-energy engineers to help achieve that mission.   In this role, you’ll be supporting silicon design teams by developing and deploying the latest construction physical design tools, flows, and methodology on cutting edge technology. You’ll work with EDA vendors to deploy the most up-to-date methods to our design teams while also driving resolution of critical issues. You’ll focus on the backend physical design implementation while still collaborating with Front End RTL teams and Back End verification teams to ensure a smooth RTL2GDS process. **Responsibilities** + Help develop and support EDA construction flows across multiple projects + Work with external EDA silicon vendors to validate latest tool features and resolve gating issues + Develop methodology that can be adopted by design teams for efficient execution + Architect code in a scalable and sustainable manner + Drive convergence of flows and methods of physical design execution + Collaborate with silicon signoff verification teams to ensure alignment in expectations between constructed database and verification techniques + Collaborate with front end teams to ensure high quality RTL handoff **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience + OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience + OR Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience + OR equivalent experience. + 1+years experience of EDA tools like Synopsys Fusion Compiler and/or Cadence Innovus. **Other Requirements:** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications:** + 5+ years of experience in advanced processes (5nm and below), physical design flows, and methodologies from leading edge foundries. + Proven experience coding in both TCL and Python. + Experience working with verification teams/tools (ex timing, physical verification, formal verification, etc.). + Proven record of delivering high qualityflows for silicon design teams. + Experience working on a global team. Silicon Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
