**Role Definition**
As the Senior Performance Simulation Application Engineer within the Driveline group you will be responsible for applying design, simulation and analysis techniques to create outstanding products. In this role, your two main areas of focus will be on (1) developing advanced product diagnostic & prognostic solutions and, (2) analyze complex drivetrain systems using various analysis software. You will work across a matrix organization actively collaborating with subject matter experts and other process partners to develop solutions to complex problems. To be successful, a very high degree of collaboration and communication skill is necessary. You will also be responsible for proactive develop of your skill sets that enable you to be the subject matter expert in this field. Other key desired skills include strong computational skills, project management, problem solving and analytical thinking.
**What you will do**
+ Perform data mining, feature extraction, and data processing processes; creating appropriate data models.
+ Conduct research on data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy on data analyses.
+ Demonstrate a breadth and depth of knowledge in the application of statistical and/or digital methods to solve product engineering issues
+ Simulate and analyze complex drivetrain systems. Identify and provide product improvement solutions for new products as well as continuous product improvements.
**Degree Requirement**
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or a similar field.
**Skills you must have**

+ **Problem Solving:** Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
+ **Technical Excellence:** Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
+ **Project Management:** Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
+ **Computer-Aided Design & Engineering:** Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.
**What you must know**
+ Programming Languages: Python / Matlab / SQL / C programming.
+ Machine Learning, deep learning tools: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn.
+ Statistics and Math Skills, Bayesian theory, high dimensionality reduction, feature engineering, anomaly detection, change point analysis.
+ Data visualization: Matplotlib, Tableau, Excel.
**Top Candidates will also have**
+ A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) or Masters Degree preferably in Engineering, Applied Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or a similar field.
+ Practical digital signal processing skills (FFT, filtering, wavelet, data cleaning etc)
+ Basic Understanding of sound and vibration analysis and diagnosis, time series analysis
+ Experience applying Python (NumPy, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, SciPy etc.) programming to solve business challenges.
+ Experience in practical applications of Machine Learning techniques such as Clustering, Classification, Regression, Decision Tree & Uncertainty Estimation.
+ Experience with version control / repositories such as GitHub
+ Strong understanding of analysis and simulation techniques. Prior FEA work is highly desirable

+ This position will close on 7/2/2025 at 11:59 p.m.
+ This position is located in East Peoria, IL (Building KK).
+ This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
+ Domestic relocation is available.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
