We’re recruiting a Senior People Manager – Pensions to take the lead on the day-to-day management of Morrisons’ pension arrangements. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, people-first business and take ownership of one of the largest private pension schemes in the UK.

This is a role where you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and external advisers, while managing complex pension schemes that impact over 140,000 members.
What you’ll be doingTaking on full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Morrisons pension schemes
This includes our open £750m Aviva scheme (c. 140,000 members)
Overseeing additional schemes, including Gibraltar and Channel Islands arrangements
Working on the end game solutions for our closed defined benefit schemes with £3.5 billion of assets and c. 80,000 members
Working closely with our Finance team on all aspects of pensions accounting
Leading member communications, ensuring colleagues understand their benefits and feel supported
Managing the Group Life Assurance scheme
Supporting the business through change activity (e.g. acquisitions/disposals) with expert pensions input
Managing relationships with trustees, advisers, actuaries and administrators
Leading a small internal team, coaching and supporting their development
Ensuring full compliance with pensions legislation and governance requirements
What we’re looking forStrong, in-depth knowledge of UK pension schemes and regulatory frameworks
A relevant pensions qualification, such as APMI or equivalent
At least 5–10 years’ experience in pensions management, consultancy or scheme governance
Proven experience managing external advisers and/or complex stakeholder groups
Excellent communication skills, particularly in simplifying pensions for members and senior colleagues
A hands-on, organised and proactive approach – comfortable working at pace and balancing multiple priorities
A collaborative mindset, with a passion for delivering for both the business and its people
