We are seeking an experienced payroll professional who prides themselves equally in collaborating effectively within a team but also operating autonomously. This is a contract opportunity based in either Brisbane or Sydney with a flexible hybrid arrangement available. The contract will be commencing in April 2025 and ending in April 2026 (with potential to extend).
The Senior Payroll Specialist provides a range of transactional, administrative, financial, and reporting functions within the team and is accountable for the accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with the employment legislative framework, as well as all company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
End to end processing of monthly and fortnightly payroll.
Reviewing payrolls.
Ongoing maintenance of payroll system as applicable.
Updating and maintaining payroll records.
Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries.
Maintaining leave, sickness, and overtime records.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Payroll experience within a medium to large organisation (>1000 employees in the payroll).
Experience in Preceda and with a Time & Attendance system (MyWorkplace would be desirable but not required).
Minimum of 10 years of experience within a similar role.
Solid understanding of payroll legislation and required processes (such as tax and superannuation).
Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills.
Legislative and Award compliance – ability to interpret relevant awards, EAs and employment legislation.
Sound organisational and time management skills.
