**Job Description:**
The job is responsible for providing strategic and sophisticated legal guidance while working under the supervision of an attorney. This job requires strong decision-making and sound judgment. Key responsibilities include drafting legal guidance and court filings in collaboration with internal and external counsels and conducting research and analyzing data.
**Team Specific Job Description:**
This role is responsible for providing strategic and sophisticated legal guidance to the Global Wealth and Investment Management (GWIM) businesses related to legal aspects of client onboarding and maintenance, at-risk person and fraud, and disputes amongst clients or against the firm. Key responsibilities include researching state and federal laws and reviewing applicable client agreements to advise the Business on client service related issues, such as Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Transfer on Death, Beneficiary Designations, Guardianships, Estates, and Legal Structures. This role also provides legal advice related to adversarial matters regarding internal or external fraud, customer complaints, and seniors or other at-risk persons. Job expectations include strong decision-making and sound judgment, with the ability to identify high-risk scenarios for escalation within the Business and the Legal Department. Attorney supervision is available, but paralegals are expected to liaise directly with the Business to resolve legal questions.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Liaises directly with internal clients to offer practical and succinct legal guidance
+ Collaborates with other paralegals, attorneys and outside counsel as needed on certain complex or high-risk matters
+ Evaluates laws, rules and regulations and provides concise written analysis
+ Researches relevant facts and case law to inform legal support for specific transactions or internal projects

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Prior experience in securities law or other banking/financial institution experience
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to accurately draft, edit, and summarize documents and communications
+ Demonstrated capacity for managing competing priorities, effective time management, thoroughness, and initiative.
+ Proficient in Microsoft suite and other related software
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Paralegal Certification preferred
**Minimum Education Requirement:**
+ High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
