The Opportunity:
The Design Engineer position provides engineering information and solutions to project management, estimating and manufacturing in support of pricing and the manufacture of thermoforming solutions.
How you will contribute to Smurfit Westrock:
Apply engineering principles to the design, development, or modification of thermoforming solutions to create engineering solutions using information obtained from the creative, sales, or project management teams. Provide information to internal and external customers, as needed , including but not limited to drawings, bill of materials, die lines, vacuum form pattern models, eDrawings, assembly instructions, vendor information, and complete specificationsProvide technical support for all items in the production processMaintain engineering documentation, including documentation detailing parts and services required to manufacturePartner with vendors to be used for components Maintain and update work schedule in real time Establish communication between company and vendors Perform reverse engineering on components in order to competitively price and manufacture thermoformed solutionsOther duties as assignedWhat you need to succeed:
Minimum a 2-year Associates Degree; a 4-year bachelor’s Degree including Industrial Design or Engineering is preferredKnowledge of and basic computer skills; proficiency in computer based design programs such as SolidWorks.Prior point of purchase display experience strongly preferredGood verbal, written and graphics communications skill are also requiredAbility to drive projects to completion in a fast paced, deadline driven environment is a requirementWhat we offer:

The salary range for this position is $104,625.00 - $174,375.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
