Role Overview: **Senior** **Packaging Engineer** As a Senior Packaging Engineer at Hill's Pet Nutrition, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing primary and secondary packaging concepts for both existing and innovative new products at our European facilities. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring that our packaging solutions are not only sustainable but also aligned with consumer insights and our supply chain requirements. **What We're Looking For:** + Innovative Collaborator: Work seamlessly across various teams, including Product Development, Marketing, Design, and Supply Chain. + Flexible Problem Solver: Navigate through different project stages, from identifying opportunities to full commercialization. + Sustainability Advocate: Understand packaging sustainability concepts and make informed decisions on design and end-of-life considerations. **Responsibilities Include:** + Collaborate with Supply Chain, Marketing and other functional groups to develop and implement packaging-related projects. + Lead complex projects or assignments with minimal supervision + Manage multiple development projects and prioritize tasks based on timelines. + Initiate and coordinate packaging line trials including planning, conducting and post-trial activities. + Record and analyze test data and prepare reports to include recommendations and conclusions + Validate ad hoc packaging to ensure product integrity and aesthetics under various environmental conditions – understands correlation between material performance specifications and final package performance. + Identify, evaluate, and champion new technologies, design trends and innovations in packaging. Stay abreast of supplier and competitor new developments + Collaborate on the creation of global specifications for packages, processes, and/or equipment, which are consistent with KPI goals.
