Position Summary
In this position, the Senior Product Development Engineer (Catheters) will lead design and development activities, including concept generation, requirements generation, prototyping, 3D modeling, 2D prints creation, and concept evaluation, on complete medical device development programs. The ideal candidate will have experience leading complex catheter development projects from concept to production. This position is open to either a Senior or Principal Product Development Engineer level.
The Following Challenge Awaits You:
Create technical execution plan and deliverables with the project manager
Lead and execute design and development project-related activities within the internal team
Lead customer interaction on technical deliverables comfortably and confidently
Lead activities for concept generation with strong technical problem-solving skills
Mentor engineers on the team to conduct engineering analysis on designs, concepts, and the associated research
Lead and monitor documentation practices for requirements, design output, design verification, and testing using Heraeus and/or customer’s QMS
Communicate complex information concisely and clearly to all levels of collaborators, including customers, team members, and others
Mentor less experienced engineers throughout project execution
Facilitate and make technical decisions on projects (i.e. vendor selection, critical to quality on the design, concept selection, etc.)

Your Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required, master’s degree in Engineering or related technical field helpful
Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience required (12 years for a Principal level); 1 year of relevant experience may be substituted for a graduate degree or 3 years for a doctorate
Medical device development experience required, including catheter development experience
Well established knowledge of multiple engineering functional areas (i.e. product development, test, modeling, process, etc.)
Anatomical knowledge of the vasculature and clinical knowledge of coronary/ peripheral/ neurological procedures is helpful
Ability to independently apply knowledge of the methodology for process/design selection
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to broad audiences
Consistently demonstrates creativity in applying engineering principles to solve complex problems
Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions utilizing statistical tools such as DOE, tolerance stack-up analysis, or Minitab
Strong independent problem-solving skills and actively works to coach others in this area
Proficient with new technology development
Capable of creating a plan to solve complex technical problems and lead others to resolution
Actively, informally or formally coaches and mentors less experienced engineers
Has established cross-functional relationships and is able to influence to drive results
Clearly communicates need for continuous improvement and champions change within the organization
Must be willing and able to travel up to 10%, including some international travel. Travel between the Fridley and White Bear Lake, Minnesota sites required as needed.
Medevio is committed to providing competitive total compensation and benefits packages. The expected base salary hiring range for this position is between $105,000.00 and $150,000.00, based upon a full-time schedule. This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity. This position is bonus eligible, with a target bonus of 10% or 15% (depending on level) of base salary depending upon company and individual performance. Our total compensation package also includes eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, education reimbursement, paid parental leave and paid time off.
