Senior Operating Engineer

You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and HVAC systems in commercial and industrial buildings managed by our company. This role requires knowledge of HVAC Building Automation Systems and has experience in electrical and controls work ensuring all work meets safety standards, building codes, and client specifications while providing excellent service and maintaining the integrity of our facilities.

What is your day to day? Installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliancesRebuilding of hot water, submersible and effluent pumpsMonitoring of the site BAS and be able to make changes and adjustments to valuesReading and interpreting blueprints, schematics building plans, HVAC and plumbing diagramsTroubleshooting plumbing and HVAC issues and performing necessary repairsConducting regular inspections of plumbing and HVAC systems to ensure proper functionInstalling and maintaining water heaters, pumps, and other plumbing and heating related equipmentPerforming preventive maintenance on HVAC and plumbing systemsCollaborating with other trades and facility management team members on projects and maintenance tasksResponding to emergency plumbing and HVAC issues in a timely mannerMaintaining accurate records of work performed, including time and materials

Required

Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the plumbing and HVAC fieldStrong knowledge of local and national plumbing codes and regulationsProficiency in using plumbing and HVAC tools and equipmentAbility to read and interpret plumbing and electrical schematics and blueprintsExperience operating specialized equipment to clear blocked drains (e.g., drain snakes, hydro-jetting equipment, CCTV pipe inspection cameras, pipe locating devices)EPA Universal certificationStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends for emergency calls

Estimated total compensation for this position:

80,000.00 – 87,400.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
