About the Role
Based in Brisbane, we have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Network Engineer within our Infrastructure & Network function.
This role is a key contributor to the design, implementation, and optimisation of our network infrastructure, with a strong focus on innovation, reliability, and continuous improvement. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our Operational Technology (OT) environments across BMA and NSWEC.
As part of the broader Fixed Network capability, you will work closely with engineering teams and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver robust network solutions, support project lifecycles, and ensure alignment with our technology standards and roadmaps.
Reporting to the Superintendent OT Fixed Networks, you will:
Govern all network Operational and Engineering project tasks, ensuring alignment with design standards and business requirements. Provide engineering and security support across network projects through design, build, and transition phases. Maintain and enhance the network environment with a focus on observability, reliability, and performance. Support the development and maintenance of infrastructure standards and roadmaps. Monitor and manage network capacity, availability, and performance using observability platforms and metadata. Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions to resolve complex infrastructure issues. Manage asset and inventory lifecycles, including forecasting end-of-life and supporting transitions. Collaborate with vendors and contractors to deliver outcomes that add value to the asset. Contribute to operational performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives. About You
Tertiary qualification (TAFE or University) in a relevant discipline. Cisco CCNA and CCNP Routing and Switching certifications. Hands-on experience with Cisco, ASA/Checkpoint, ISE, SolarWinds, AlgoSec, SD-WAN, and ACI. Proven ability to manage complex network environments and deliver infrastructure enhancements. Strong understanding of configuration management, patching, and firmware standards. Experience working with observability tools and maintaining accurate metadata in CMDB systems. Ability to travel to mine sites to support project work.
Desirable:
Additional qualifications in a related discipline. Checkpoint & Cisco certifications. Experience with AI-driven network health monitoring and automation. About Our Process
