ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of network solutions for the respective ATM project and/or bid activity.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Sr. Network Engineer, you are accountable for:
Develop or update solution architecture drawings and diagrams, cost templates (devis), the List of Supply (LOS) / Bill of Materials (BOM), and interfaces at the start of the project.Develop or update network contributions to the Solution Specification and Design documentation, Network Acceptance Test Procedures, and other associated network integration documents.Define equipment configuration for the ATM solution(s) and coordinate with Hardware Deployment and Integration management for assembly of the ATM system and interface with Tools Engineering, Customer Service and Site Services departments where necessary to accomplish this task.Load, configure, validate, and hand over equipment to Software Integration in the factory and on customer sitesSupport configuration changes to system platforms in factory and customer sites.Proactively support Project Design ReviewsProvide customer trainingIdentify risks at solution architecture level and propose where possible alternate validated solutionsProvide system and networking expertiseFollow and contribute to the development and enhancement of engineering processesIn a leadership capacity, provide support to Work Package Manager:
Develop and maintain objectives, strategy and roadmapEnsure that deliveries (including associated documentation and engineering artefacts) are on time (as per schedule and milestones) with the expected level of complianceContribute to key milestones and provide input into triage and change boardsTrack team progression against the agreed plan, provide task estimation and forecasting as input into the weekly status dashboardIdentify risks and propose mitigation solutionsRelay key communications to team through daily/weekly team meetingsResponsibilities to the team:
Is main point of contact for the team on functional or technical topics, or knows who to contactPerforms allocation and prioritisation of tasks for the teamResponsible for the quality of the teams outputs, including compliance to the configuration management process
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering, IT or related disciplineCisco formal certifications (CCNP, CCNA etc)Essential Experience
5+ years experience in similar positions on projects delivering complex software-centric real-time systems.Proven experience in leading small teamsDemonstrated experience in the design of infrastructure and network architecturesDemonstrated experience in the design of network architectures inline with security standards and policiesSound level of knowledge and experience with Unix/Linux (Redhat distribution preferred) Operating SystemFamiliarity with a wide range of Computer and Networking hardware (preferably Cisco)Scripting (TCL/TK, Perl, & Shell)Able to work on multiple activities con-currently and effectively self-manage (autonomy)Experience with collective decisions and conflict resolutionsCapability to manage various stakeholders having different objectivesProven capability to work in a multi-cultural environment and with variety of international customers.Aptitude to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environmentA positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.Sound judgement and independent decision-making capability where necessaryExcellent written and oral communication skills in EnglishDesirable:
Work experience in a mission-critical, near real-time environment preferably ATC-relatedExperience in large and distributed networked computer systemExperience in working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)General / Special Requirements
