Job Description

Join a dynamic and skilled team focused on maintaining and enhancing the operational efficiency of production machinery. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of industrial equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other production machineries.Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments.Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools.Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and utilizing rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.Assist with planning and closing the loop on work orders in Maximo.Record parts and materials used, and order or create requisition for new parts and materials as necessary.Essential SkillsRed Seal 433A Millwright License5+ years of Canadian Millwright experience in an industrial environment1+ year of Lead Hand/Supervisor experienceExperience with mechanical devices and pneumatic controlsAdditional Skills & QualificationsWelding and cutting proficiencyExperience working at heightsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

Work for a market leader in roofing and building materials manufacturing, a Canadian-owned company with a global presence. Join a team of skilled Millwrights, with a total of 14 needed to cover all shifts. Training is provided for 1-2 months on day shifts from 7 am to 3:30 pm. The role involves a continental shift schedule with shifts spanning from 7 am to 7 pm and 7 pm to 7 am throughout the week, including weekends. Expect alternating weeks of 48 and 36 hours, with overtime opportunities available.
