The Senior Medical Billing Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities: + Claims Oversight: Prepare, review, and submit Medicaid and Medicare claims with strict attention to policies, guidelines, and timelines. + Compliance Coordination: Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines for Medicaid/Medicare billing and reporting. + Denial Management: Research and resolve denied claims, identify trends, and implement corrective measures to reduce denials. + Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable for Medicaid and Medicare claims, and balance patient accounts as needed. + Team Leadership: Train and mentor junior billing staff, ensuring compliance and consistency in workflows. + Audit Preparation: Support internal and external audits related to Medicare and Medicaid, providing documentation and data analysis as required. + Performance Reporting: Generate monthly reports on Medicaid and Medicare collections, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting actionable solutions. + Process Optimization: Collaborate with management to enhance billing operations and implement new technologies for greater efficiency. Requirements + Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or certification in Medical Billing or Coding preferred. + Experience: 5+ years of hands-on medical billing experience, with a specific emphasis on Medicaid and Medicare. Prior leadership or senior-level roles a plus. + Software Skills: Expertise in medical billing software and familiarity with electronic health records systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth); advanced Excel knowledge is a plus. + Regulatory Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding, HIPAA compliance, and Medicaid/Medicare billing processes. + Communication: Strong written and verbal abilities to work with insurance representatives, patients, and cross-functional teams. + Skills: High attention to detail, strong organizational capabilities, and problem-solving aptitude for managing multiple priorities.
