Job Description

HOW A HARDWARE ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Designs, develops, and builds machinery with motion control systems
● Works with a small team of hardware/electrical engineers and software developers to create full system

● Uses engineering knowledge and rapid prototyping methods to improve existing machinery and/or create new machinery, solve complex customer problems & new requirements, and replace end of life components

● Remotely supports technical staff at customer sites by providing replacement parts, guidance/instructions, and phone support

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelors in Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering (or other relevant field) OR technical degree/program
● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
● Security Clearance Level: Need to be able to pass a DHS EOD background investigation
● Required Technical Skills:

Experience using Autodesk Inventor, Fusion, or other 3D modeling packageExperience in creating mechanical and technical drawingsKnowledge of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processesExperience assembling/installing machines and/or part assembliesExperience handling sensitive technical equipmentExperience with motion control applicationsKnowledge of ASME Y14.5 StandardExperience in mechanical design; DFM, DFC (design for manufacture, cost, etc.) conceptsExperience designing machines that utilize various sensorsExperience with structural FEA (simulations)Interest in prototyping to problem solve and aid with design decisionsComfortable using CNC and 3D printing for rapid prototyping
 

● Preferred Skills:

Experience designing for 3D printed components and operating 3D printersExperience with Autodesk Vault for version control and team collaborationExperience with C, MATLAB, or other engineering software package
