About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Babcock, you will apply your engineering expertise across multiple domains to deliver high-quality technical solutions throughout various phases of the product lifecycle.
From initial investigations to ongoing support, you will be entrusted with complex engineering tasks that require sound technical judgment and a deep understanding of mechanical systems.
You’ll lead and contribute to technical investigations, plan and manage engineering tasks, and produce detailed documentation that supports both current and future engineering efforts.
You’ll also participate in formal reviews, provide expert guidance to stakeholders, and ensure technical processes align with regulations, standards, and safety requirements.
About You
You are an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong foundation in design, analysis, manufacturing, and support techniques.
You thrive in solving complex engineering challenges and are confident making decisions that impact products throughout their lifecycle.
You have a track record of delivering high-quality technical outcomes on time and within budget, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Whether advising internal stakeholders, supporting business development efforts, or mentoring your peers, you bring a collaborative spirit and a passion for innovation.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
Extensive relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles Proven experience in managing applicable engineering function and/or technical delivery A good understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software) Hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor’s degree in engineering or hold the recognised engineering qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results
