Job Description

We are seeking a creative and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our mechanical structures team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing components for the flagship Horizon tracker, enhancing its adaptability to diverse environments, challenging site conditions, and focusing on cost reduction.

ResponsibilitiesDesign components for the Horizon tracker to accommodate various environments and site conditions.Lead the design process from conception to mass production.Collaborate with suppliers to ensure product specifications are met.Focus on high volume manufacturing and cost control in design.Test and validate designs before mass production.Utilize Solidworks for design, with openness to other CAD programs.Essential SkillsStrong experience with FEA using Ansys.Proficiency in Solidworks, sheet metal, and casting.Expertise in high volume metal design.Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design.Experience in test fixture design and root cause analysis.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with solar or renewable energy.Familiarity with Confluence, Arena, and Jira.Work Environment

The position offers a dynamic work environment where engineers play a significant role in developing processes. The development cycle is fluid, allowing for innovation and creativity. Engineers are encouraged to experiment and validate their designs, ensuring they are heard within the company. The role offers a hybrid work schedule with four days onsite and one day at home, typically Friday. Lunch is catered twice a week, enhancing the collaborative and supportive atmosphere.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $67.31 - $88.94/hr.
