More about your role  

In this role, you'll act as the Marketing Planning and Business Partner for our Developments business and will be responsible for understanding their commercial growth plans to ensure that all marketing and communications activity is aligned to business goals. Working collaboratively across our matrix organisation, you'll utilise knowledge and insight from the regional teams, along with harnessing the expertise in the group communications team, to create and deliver strategic marketing plans that drive leads and sales.  You'll lead and develop a high performing team, ensuring that they are working effectively within the end-to-end process and taking a data led, output focused approach to both BAU and Campaign workflows.   

Working within the wider Planning Team, you'll coordinate annual and quarterly planning cycles for Developments, acting as the main contact for senior leaders in your business area, and manage competing marketing priorities with sound judgement and insight. You'll be able to spot commercial opportunities and mobilise the team to brief or create activity where it delivers the most value at pace. 

This role requires someone who can not only develop and prioritise strategic initiatives but also roll up their sleeves and work closely with the team to bring those plans to life. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to drive results through hands-on leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of how to translate strategy into impactful execution. 

 

Essential Criteria: 

Ability to lead a team of specialist marketing professionals across multiple disciplines; line management experience essential.  Minimum 4 years' experience in a commercial business developing and delivering successful sales and marketing strategies, with proven implementation and monitoring.  Skilled in translating business objectives into clear, commercially focused marketing briefs.  Strong relationship-building skills across large, matrix organisations; experience advising senior stakeholders.  Solid planning and project management experience within communications.  Strong questioning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract effective briefs and balance group-wide needs; experience using data and reporting to drive performance.

In this role, you'll need to lead a team of specialist marketing professionals, often coordinating across internal comms, external comms, digital, content, and creative teams. You'll bring a wealth of commercial marketing experience, with a strong track record in developing and delivering successful strategies. You'll be confident translating complex business challenges into clear, actionable marketing briefs, and comfortable influencing senior stakeholders across a matrix organisation. Strong planning, project management, and analytical skills are key, along with the ability to use data to shape and evaluate campaigns. You'll also need to present ideas clearly, challenge thinking when needed, and confidently communicate recommendations at all levels, including Director level.
