**The Opportunity**
The Senior Market Access Associate position is responsible for supporting funding and reimbursement activities related to key Johnson & Johnson MedTech businesses, as a member of the Health Economics Market Access ANZ (HEMA) team. The role involves the compilation of Australia Government HTA applications, including Prescribed List (PL) reimbursement, AR-DRG, and MBS code applications, alongside the collation of all necessary documentation.
As the successful candidate will contribute to the development of market access strategies by gathering insights to align with local, regional, and global business plans. This includes understanding market access barriers and opportunities through the analysis of the clinical benefits, health outcomes, and cost implications of the J&J MedTech portfolio.
You will also support evidence generation projects by identifying data gaps and needs that align with local opportunities, with a focus on differentiated clinical and health economic evidence that supports strategic pricing and access for key technologies.
This position requires collaboration as a business partner within multi-functional teams, ensuring the adaptation of regional and global HEMA tools for effective use by customer-facing teams. The position also supports the dissemination of HEMA data and knowledge sharing, including the preparation of presentation materials.
You will also assist HEMA managers by gathering external market insights from MTAA, the Australian Government, PHIs, KOLs, clinical societies, and non-clinical stakeholders, including hospitals and facilities.
**Responsibilities**
+ Support and learn local market access reimbursement and funding skills to understand the strategy aligned to all businesses’ NPIs as aligned to critical health economics and markets access technical skills.
+ Complete clinical evidence analysis, cost analysis, procedural data analysis with respect to HTA applications and market access projects with senior HEMA personnel guidance.
+ Support all HTA submissions; namely PL and MSAC applications including potential 3rd party consulting resources with outlining market insights and learning to write drafts of application sections.
+ Support and learn relevant internal reimbursement aligned activities, namely, J&J governance, evidence workflow, compilation of external customer PL communication materials, support to commercial teams with material master reimbursement coding, SAP validation checks and addressing customer service, sales and finance reimbursement queries.
+ Respond with senior HEMA personnel support to external provider/payer queries with reimbursement and market access knowledge as needed/requested.
+ Learn and support internal stakeholder teams’ knowledge sharing addressing healthcare system education needs with development of HEMA presentation materials for disseminating information.
+ Contribute to evidence generation projects and the dissemination of value to internal stakeholders, incorporating local market, patient, physician/surgeon, payer and provider insights.
+ Work closely with commercial marketing teams, namely local, regional and global; and the strategic commercial teams in the creation, alignment and implementation of “value messaging”.
+ With senior personnel support, learn to develop value creation tools using clinical and economic outcomes that support marketing and commercial solutions and other key business goals.
+ Prioritise HEMA activities and time management aligned to the key/focus business goals for each respective J&J MedTech portfolio.
+ Accountable for individual professional development plans, with senior personnel support, aligned to health economics, market access capability and skills.
**About You**
+ Tertiary Education relating to Health Economics/Market Access and/or relevant Medical/Science Tertiary Qualification
+ At least 1-3 years’ experience in the healthcare sector/medical devices industry (or equivalent)
+ Basic understanding of all aspects of reimbursement/funding processes and associated applications and submissions (PL, MSAC, AR-DRG)
+ Good understanding of the Australian Health Care System
+ Project management experience
+ Submission writing experience
+ A solid working knowledge of the Private and Public healthcare systems in Australia and New Zealand
+ Understanding of the pricing and reimbursement processes within the policy environment in Australia and New Zealand
+ Experience working on PL application compilation and submissions with demonstrated MedTech success
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
+ Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
+ Good interpersonal and influencing skills
+ Intermediate to advanced level MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and a digital work environment
+ Science, Pharmacy, Economic or Medical-related degree
+ A strong team player that is solutions focused
+ A Bachelor’s degree in Health or Science related disciplines
