The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and now a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job Description

The group you work in deals with operational and strategic topics aimed at increasing productivity in semiconductor manufacturing. In addition to strategic projects, the group is responsible for strategic factory simulation and operational material flow optimization at the site. This includes responsibility for the following core topics:

Factory control and material flow optimization (Dispatching/Scheduling)Factory simulation via discrete event simulationLine analysis and decision support in interdisciplinary collaborationData mining for extraction, transformation, and validation of system-critical dataPlanning and execution of strategic projects at Bosch locations worldwide

Your Responsibilities:

Ensure the continuous development of factory control at the siteDesign and implementation of state-of-the-art control methodsOptimization of processes regarding workflow organization and cost-effectivenessAnalysis and evaluation of relevant factory key figures with interdisciplinary teamsIn-depth collaboration with adjacent groups, e.g., capacity planning, reporting, etc.

QualificationsPossess at least a Bachelors' Degree (Master's/Diploma) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or EngineeringAt least 5 years of professional experience in IT within semiconductor manufacturing or similar industriesSolid knowledge in the control/optimization of material flowsBroad background knowledge and practical experience with control methodsExcellent programming skills in a high-level language (C#, Java, Python)Very good understanding of manufacturing-oriented IT architecturesProven experience in working with large data sets is an advantage (databases)Experience in data mining and statistics, as well as in the field of data science, is desirableGood team player & good collaboration within an international environmentHigh level of independence and flexibilityStrong communication and assertiveness skillsProfessional presentation and confident demeanor
