Key Responsibilities
· Troubleshoot process issues and developed effective countermeasures using a continuous improvement mindset
· Document processes and develop detailed visual work instructions
· Specify and lead the procurement of new forging equipment and automation systems
· Project manage the rebuild and maintenance of existing forge presses
· Work cross functionally with both operations and quality to resolve scrap and rework issues
· Work with die design and machining engineers to improve forging die design
Work Experience
Required Experience
· Must have a 4-year degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical engineering preferred)
· Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with closed die forging processes or a similar metal forming processes
· Demonstrated ability to assess the needs of the production team and develop effective solutions to process issues
· Demonstrated experience leading new equipment purchases or equipment rebuilds
· Ability to work cross functionally with all groups to find solutions
· Demonstrated experience working directly with production and maintenance personnel
· Experience with CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)
· Ability to read and interpreted drawings and GD&T
Preferred Experience
· Advanced education or training in one of the following areas: closed die forging, die design, metallurgy, induction heating, or predictive maintenance
· 10 or more years of experience working in a closed die forging environment
· Relevant certifications such as PE License, PMP, Six Sigma, etc.
· Working knowledge of die design
· Working knowledge of metallurgy and induction heating processes
· Experience with process automation
