Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Azure Fiber
The Azure Fiber team in Romsey is seeking dynamic candidates with energy and a passion for innovation to join our team. You will be working on fabrication technologies for radically novel optical fibers, including glass preform manufacture, optical fiber drawing and associated processes. The role will involve close interaction with the Engineering and Operations teams to take new fabrication methods for next generation fibers and turn them into robust and reliable processes that can be successfully transferred into volume manufacture by the production team. Additionally, you will be required to support the scaling up of the new fabrication facility to meet customer demand and company ambition. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. **Responsibilities** + Drives team to ensure yield and continuous improvements into mass production and prioritize manufacturing focus through use of process control tools and analysis of measurement data to identify trends and correlations in coating performance. + Lead activities between the Engineering and Operations groups in order to manage materials supply and quality of incoming material. + Lead fibre coating development projects and transfer the process from prototype phase to production phase. + Leads the development and management of documentation in support of process technology, operating procedures and process control requirements. + Design and lead experiments to perform accelerated failure analysis. + Root cause analysis of defects and failure modes. + Process expert for optical fiber coatings. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, materials, chemical, polymer, and industrial engineering, or related field experience in a manufacturing environment + OR Master's Degree in manufacturing, materials, chemical, polymer, and industrial engineering, or related field experience in a manufacturing environment + OR equivalent experience **Other Requirements:** + Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
