We’re hiring a Senior Manager, Academy to lead our academy as a client-facing business unit. You’ll be responsible for driving growth, building offerings, managing delivery, and ensuring commercial success. This role blends L&D expertise with strong business acumen and entrepreneurial energy. You’ll treat the academy like a startup creating value for clients and revenue for the company.Core Skill Areas (Skills-Based requirements):
1. Learning & Development (L&D) Expertise
Skilled in designing impactful learning solutions for external clients.Strong understanding of adult learning, curriculum design, and digital delivery models.Experience in developing modular, scalable programs tailored to diverse industries or sectors.Ability to translate client business challenges into relevant learning solutions.2. Business Development & Client Engagement
Proven track record in developing and closing B2B deals in learning, consulting, or services.Ability to identify client needs, shape proposals, and build long-term client relationships.Skilled in pitching solutions to senior decision-makers.Comfortable navigating complex client environments and procurement processes.3. Commercial & Financial Acumen
Experience managing a business unit or product line with revenue and profit responsibility.Ability to price, package, and position offerings for competitive markets.Skilled in financial planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.Understands how to scale sustainably - balancing growth with delivery capacity.4. Entrepreneurial Mindset
Demonstrated ability to build and grow a business or new venture from the ground up.Comfortable working with ambiguity, solving problems on the fly, and taking ownership.Fast, adaptable, and action-oriented.Always seeking new revenue streams, partnerships, and opportunities to innovate.5. Program & Delivery Management
Strong experience overseeing the end-to-end delivery of learning programs or services.Able to manage teams, vendors, and partners to ensure quality and consistency.Skilled in client-facing project management, issue resolution, and performance reporting.Ensures seamless experiences that drive outcomes and client satisfaction.6. Leadership & Collaboration
Experience leading cross-functional teams or working in matrixed environments.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to influence and collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, product, ops).Builds a culture of accountability, speed, and client-first thinking.Preferred Experience:
Experience in running a commercial learning business, corporate academy, or training consultancy.Background in B2B services, edtech, or professional development solutions.Exposure to multiple industries and comfort working with enterprise clients.Education (if blank, degree and/or field of study not specified)
