Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Travel Manager to lead all aspects of our domestic travel program, with a vision to evolve toward a fully integrated global travel strategy. This individual will also oversee our internal Meetings & Events vertical, managing the planning and execution of company-sponsored internal meetings. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in corporate travel management, third-party vendor oversight, and meeting planning—combined with strong negotiation skills, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of corporate Travel Specialists, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance management.
Manage the corporate domestic travel program end-to-end, including policy development, compliance, traveler experience, and cost optimization.
Drive the strategic evolution of the travel program from a domestic scope to a scalable, global model.
Oversee the company's internal meetings and events function, ensuring efficient logistics and alignment with corporate priorities.
Serve as the primary liaison with the company’s Travel Management Company (TMC), managing service levels, performance metrics, and contract negotiations.
Act as a key point of contact for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on all matters related to travel and internal meetings, including high-touch service for executive travel needs.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and value creation through supplier negotiations, preferred partnerships, and demand management.
Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders in Finance, HR, Risk, and Procurement to align travel and meeting strategies with broader organizational goals.
Analyze travel and meetings data to generate insights, reporting, and continuous improvement recommendations.
Lead change management and communication efforts to promote policy adherence and a positive traveler experience.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, duty of care standards, and regulatory requirements.
Stay current on business travel trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Require minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience managing enterprise-level corporate travel programs.
Demonstrated success negotiating with airlines, hotels, and TMCs.
Proven experience overseeing third-party travel management partners and managing performance against SLAs.
Experience leading a team and driving team engagement and development.
Strong track record of planning and executing corporate meetings and events.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage and influence executive stakeholders.
Familiarity with travel technologies and booking platforms (e.g., SAP Concur, GBT, CWT, Egencia).
