Responsibilities
This position will focus on providing excellent supply chain operational services to our customers with a solid understanding of best practices, innovations, trends in the industry, to include cross-industry disciplines (e.g., SCM, analytic, strategic, etc.). Coordinates the operational and administrative functions to provide high quality service to our patients and staff in a cost-effective manner utilizing best supply chain methodologies, processes, and tools. Responsible for identification of improvement opportunities and the development and coordination of operational capabilities, process controls and cost containment within the Division of Supply Chain Management. Including development of new control and cost containment techniques, prioritization of activities and creation of business plans for new initiatives, guidance related to financial and operational risk management to leadership. Sees and organizes opportunities to improve processes and to act as a catalyst for realizing these improvements. Responsible for effective change management practice and detailed understanding of clinical operations. Acts as a facilitator and generator of new ideas and a mediator on difficult issues. Provides awareness of current external environment issues, including financial statement control and audit expertise to ensure Mayo Clinic compliance with all regulatory agencies. Ensures information currency, quality and integrity. Participates in the overall management of their department by leading and serving on inter- and intra-divisional projects/groups, task forces and committees. Creates a customer service driven unit adept at working collaboratively with physician and administrative colleagues and across department and institutional lines. Builds teamwork within the division and among physician and administrative colleagues.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business, healthcare, Finance, or Fraud/Risk Management and 10 years of specified experience which includes at least five years with supervisory / management experience. This position requires demonstrated analytical experience and strong personal computer, communication, project management, leadership, problem solving, continuous improvement, customer service, team building skills and ability to develop strong relationships with physician and administrative leaders. Strong knowledge of financial and information technology, and business planning is required. Must have a history of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others over time is a must. Masters preferred.
Must demonstrate skills and characteristics that are advanced to a level that would be deemed developmental toward a future position. Strong interpersonal skills- able to meet and exchange with executive leadership through Mayo and other industry. Must be able to relate to, gain support of, and drive consensus with clinicians and administrators for the purposes of product standardization, operational efficiency improvements. Must have significant facilitation skills and persistence in gaining physician leadership and clinical/technical support for the implementation of the expense management strategies. Must demonstrate knowledge of supply chain management and accounting processes, cost/benefit analysis, inventory control systems, strategic planning, healthcare supply vendors and manufacturers. Must be capable of independent work, with little to no guidance provided exercising good judgment, creating an environment in which people communicate with each other respectfully, solving problems, and growing personally and professionally. Must be an advocate of change management, effectively communicating and implementing change and managing it proactively in order to minimize disruption to customers and the supply chain. Must be an individual of high integrity, comfortable working in a team environment, possessing vision, solving problems through effective planning and management. Must have excellent negotiation skills with external and internal constituencies and a thorough knowledge of industry best practices to continually enhance and improve the procurement distribution processes. Will assume a leadership role as part of the SCM Leadership team to maximize standardization and promote effective utilization throughout the system. Must be able to address conflicts of interest between potential suppliers and Mayo personnel consistent with Mayo policy. Promotes teamwork and seeks to maximize the potential of all employees. Will serve as a facilitator of change and as a mentor and role model to those within and outside the Supply Chain Management office. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential. Able to effectively communicate strategies and initiatives to internal management groups and business partners. Must be an individual of high energy with a positive attitude and track record of getting results. Experience in making and implementing decisions in a complex, consensus-oriented environment required. Experience with or sensitivity to the uniqueness of the patient care environment is mandatory. Must be proficient with software programs (Excel, Word, etc.).
Lean and Six Sigma ASQ Certification, AHRMM CMRP, PMP, CPA or other related industry certifications preferred. Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred. Mayo Quality Fellows Silver Certification preferred and Gold preferred.
