Senior Manager - Retirement Plans
Eaton is currently seeking a Senior Manager - Retirement Plans to join our team. This position is based at Eaton’s Beachwood, OH corporate office. The Senior Manager - Retirement Plans is responsible for managing and administering Eaton's global retirement plans. This role involves leading the design, implementation, and administration of various retirement programs, including defined contribution 401(k) plans, cash balance plans, and defined benefit plans in the US, as well as retirement programs in Puerto Rico, Canada, and the UK. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Benefits, this position is crucial in the administration management and compliance of our retirement programs. This strategic role provides the opportunity to influence the future of Eaton's retirement benefits and ensures that employees receive comprehensive support in their financial wellness and retirement planning. **Essential responsibilities:** • Oversee the design and execution of retirement benefit programs in the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the UK, including 401(k) plans, pension plans, and other related offerings, ensuring they meet employee needs and regulatory requirements. • Manage relationships with plan vendors, such as recordkeepers, actuarial consultants, and plan trustees. • Act as the primary HR liaison for the Retirement and Investment Committee, facilitating fiduciary reviews and supporting investment decisions with Treasury for our retirement programs. • Serve as the primary corporate liaison for the trustees of Eaton's UK schemes. • Advise Regional C&B Leaders on the local design and execution of retirement plans, ensuring alignment with broader company goals and employee needs. • Continuously analyze industry trends, utilization rates, portfolio performance, and employee feedback to recommend improvements or adjustments to existing retirement programs. • Lead initiatives to effectively communicate retirement benefits to employees, ensuring clear understanding and engagement with available retirement resources and tools. • Spearhead the financial wellness pillar within the global wellbeing strategy, providing employees with the tools and knowledge to make healthy financial decisions. • Ensure compliance with retirement-related regulations, including ERISA, IRS, and international rules. Partner with benefits accounting to ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports such as Form 5500 and support annual audits. • Lead continuous enhancements to the retirement programs, ensuring alignment with the latest market trends, employee feedback, and regulatory updates. • Provide support for union pension plans and assist with contract renewal negotiations as needed. • Assist with other benefits programs as needed. **Qualifications:** Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required • Minimum seven (7) years professional benefits experience with direct responsibility for retirement plan management • Experience in managing end-to-end Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit retirement plans, particularly in the U.S • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future • No relocation is offered for this position. Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of the Beachwood, OH location to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Position Success Criteria: • Understanding of retirement benefits regulations across various countries. • Ability to analyze retirement plan performance, market trends, and employee engagement metrics to inform strategic decisions. • In-depth knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and international retirement compliance standards. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex retirement plan concepts clearly to employees at all levels. • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite and related tools for reporting and analysis. • Team player, excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent.
