You will be responsible for the overall management, implementation, and oversight of all cost control activities across the business and project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with contractual and financial obligations, under Reimbursable or Lump Sum terms.

This position operates within a consultant engineering environment, requiring close collaboration with project management, engineering, procurement, finance and client teams to drive cost transparency, forecasting accuracy, and overall financial performance.

To succeed in this role, you should at least fifteen (15) years’ experience in oil & gas industry, at least ten (10) years’ experience in project control discipline and 5 years’s experience as project control manager experience on multi-million-dollar project execution.

What you’ll do

We are looking for Senior/Manager Project Control to join our team in our Jakarta Office, Indonesia.

The role responsibilities include\:

·        Lead and manage the overall cost control strategy, systems, and reporting for the project.

·        Coordinate all project cost analysis activities, ensuring the preparation, accuracy, and quality of cost reports; establish strong liaison with project management and client representatives on all cost control matters.

·        Act as the focal point for all cost control activities, integrating cost-related functions across the project portfolio, including work executed at site.

·        Develop and implement strategies for personnel development, workload forecasting, progress tracking, and integrated cost/schedule reporting.

·        Manage the project accounting and job costing systems to meet financial and project performance requirements.

·        Monitor project hours and cost performance against the approved contract budget; identify variances and provide early warnings to project leadership for corrective actions.

·        Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted/forecast costs and prepare meaningful financial reports and insights for project management and stakeholders.

·        Coordinate closely with planning and scheduling engineers to ensure alignment of cost and schedule data for integrated project reporting.

·        Oversee and validate cost inputs from all disciplines to ensure accurate and up-to-date internal and external cost reports.

·        Prepare and issue monthly financial and progress reports, including cash flow forecasts, commitment logs, and forecast-at-completion updates.

·        Prepare and submit project invoices to the client in accordance with the contract’s milestone payment terms and liaise with the client to clarify any cost-related matters.

·        Ensure timely payment of submitted invoices and track outstanding payments in coordination with the project team.

·        Review and assess subcontractor performance reports and invoices, ensuring consistency with progress milestones and contract terms.

·        Provide cost control support in oversight and management of key contracts, especially those impacting major project commitments.

·        Coordinate and ensure the timely submission of reports and deliverables originating from project control systems, incorporating insightful commentary and analysis where appropriate.

·        Participate in internal and client meetings to provide regular updates and strategic input on project cost performance and related matters.

What you’ll have

·        Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an Engineering qualification or equivalent experience in engineering / construction.

·        At least fifteen (15) year experience in oil & gas industry, at least ten (10) years’ experience in project control discipline and at least five (5) years’ experience as Project Control Manager.

·        Technical professional with experience and knowledge of project controls functions in the oil and gas or petro-chemical industries.

·        Strong understanding of cost control principles in a Lump Sum contracting environment

·        Experience working in a consultant engineering firm

·        Working knowledge of EcoSys or similar enterprise project control systems is highly desirable.
