The Integrated Components Division (ICD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. ICD is responsible for the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Role Definition

As a Senior Production Manager at Caterpillar, you will direct an assigned production area in the manufacture and/or assembly of quality parts to meet established production requirements.

What you will do

- Manages the Piracicaba, Brazil Hose Assembly facility (PHA), serving as the Senior Production manager reporting to the Director of Hose Assembly Operations.

- Owns and sets the overall direction for the assembly value streams with overall responsibility for people, quality, velocity, and cost

- Responsibility for facility safety

- Drives accountability to the team

- Provides direction to section managers and support roles – quality, manufacturing engineers, maintenance

- Oversees a workforce of approximately 80 employees

- Owns the Continuous Improvement process: promotes new idea generation, ensures projects are worked and implemented, and addresses roadblocks

- Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Section Managers, Team Leads and Team Members

- Performs on-going evaluation of work-loads with section managers and assists with problem resolution

- Ensures production schedules can be met in a lean manufacturing environment to satisfy assembly line and parts schedule requirements

- Develops detailed near-term and long-term production plans

- Drives root cause analysis and resolution on all forms of loss, i.e., safety, quality, production.

- Champions lean culture and rolls out lean initiatives/tools

What Skills you will have:

Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.

Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

Basic requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree preferably in manufacturing, supply chain or engineering.

- Technical understanding of the manufacturing and material selection process

- Experience in operations, manufacturing engineering or supply chain

- Relevant supervisory/management experience

Top candidates will also have:

- General understanding of the Caterpillar organization, products, policies, and procedures

- Business management skills, plus CPS processes and tools knowledge

- Previous management, motivational and problem-solving skills

This position requires 10% or less travel.

This position requires the candidate to work on-site five days a week.
