The Position
Responsible for overseeing and managing all NNI patient product access programs to ensure Novo Nordisk's commitment to patient-centered care as well as fostering relationships with both patients and health care professionals.
Relationships
Reports to the Director - PAP. Works closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Call Center, Commercial Effectiveness, Supply Chain, Procurement, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Managed Markets, Regulatory, Legal, IT, Trade, Product Safety and Compliance. External relationships include affordability program vendors.
Essential Functions
+ Oversee and manage all aspects of Novo Nordisk’s product access programs including:
+ Product Trial- Non-FSE sample solutions
+ Product Assistance
+ Patient Assistance Programs (PAP)
+ Diabetes PAP
+ Growth Hormone PAP
+ Hemophilia & Rare Bleeding Disorders PAP
+ Hormone Therapy PAP
+ Interim Product Programs
+ JumpStart (Growth Hormone)
+ Hemophilia & Rare Bleeding Disorders Interim Product Program
+ Product Donations Operations
+ Diabetes Camp Donation Program
+ Disaster Relief Support
+ Product Replacement Operations
+ Guide Sharps container distribution and PPSWG Management
+ Organize government reporting for State level PAP programs (MN, ME)
+ Partner with institutions and health centers to coordinate alternative free product distribution solutions
+ Navigate and serve as point compliance audits and lead management of solutions to compliance issues as they arise
+ Functions and responsibilities for all programs:
+ Business planning
+ Develops solutions for internal and external product access needs and/or requests
+ Responsible for developing estimates and timelines for new solutions
+ Content development
+ Develops and updates all program-related materials (internal and external) to support program
+ Manages all necessary approvals including PRB when needed
+ Financial management
+ Generates the budget process and annual forecasts (admin, product and distribution costs)
+ Assess budgetary impact of program modifications
+ Makes sound decisions to optimize spend and ensures that resources are appropriately allocated and quality of services are maintained while costs remain on track
+ Regularly tracks and reconciles expenses
+ Operations & compliance
+ Partners closely with compliance and legal to implement and monitor business rules for each program
+ Follows internal and external procedures in managing contracts
+ Leads program related KPIs program/vendor performance via regular status meetings, monthly reporting and calibration calls
+ Continually monitors healthcare reform and industry trends regarding program business rules and distribution
+ Collaborates closely with Managed Markets, Government Affairs, and Legal to ensure Novo Nordisk patient product support programs meet the needs of patients while remains in full compliance with federal and state regulations
+ Monitors the programs on a regular basis to ensure program complies with all regulations
+ Ensures compliance with all Novo Nordisk, legal and government policies and procedures relative to Patient Product Support Programs
+ Facilitates quarterly review meetings with key stakeholders and vendor contacts to ensure quality, compliance and program expectations
+ Respond to patient and healthcare professionals escalated issues/complaints
+ Partners with Legal and Compliance to keep updated on all current policies, develops guidelines to ensure these are implemented and followed
+ Manages/Audits external vendors to ensure service level objectives are being met and all problems are resolved in a timely manner
+ Communicates program changes and statistics/metrics to internal groups as needed
Physical Requirements
0-20% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred
+ A minimum of eight (8) years sales and/or marketing experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred
+ Budget and vendor management experience required
+ Develops accurate short- and long-term plans, forecasting, and business analysis
+ Ensures timely execution and follow-up. Meets deadlines
+ Intermediate proficiency in Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel required
+ Planning, Execution and Follow-up - effectively prioritizes and spends time, and the time of others on what is important
+ Strong interpersonal/communication skills
+ Strong organization and analytical skills
+ Strong written communication skills
The base compensation range for this position is $116,810 to $216,100. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
