The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team facilitates and monitors the implementation of effective operational risk management programs throughout the organization, and oversees risk ownership throughout business units, products, and processes. The objective of the ORM Issues & Events team is to define and maintain the issues and events frameworks and programs across the enterprise.  

ORM is looking for a Senior Manager of operational loss events (OREs) to be a key part of a diverse team of high-performing professionals focused on ensuring effective operational risk management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.

The Senior Manager, Losses / Risk Events will:

Lead and represent Program in end-to-end delivery of enhancements to systems supporting Operational Risk Events (ORE) capture and reporting (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow), with accountability for architectural decisions, data design, and user experience. Drive enterprise alignment across Product, Business Transformation, Risk, Technology, and 1LoD partners to deliver scalable, sustainable solutions that meet regulatory and business needs. Act as the senior subject matter expert on system requirements related to the ORE framework, ensuring full alignment with enterprise risk taxonomy, regulatory expectations (e.g., Basel), and data governance standards. Translate complex policy and methodology requirements into system logic, workflows, and reporting capabilities. Lead testing, validation, and change management across releases from the Program perspective. Lead and oversee data migration from legacy platforms, ensuring full data integrity, mapping of critical attributes, and historical traceability across risk data assets. Provide input into delivery roadmap, milestones, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communications for the ORE technology program. Help prepare materials for executive steering committees and regulatory interactions. Champion automation initiatives and data quality enhancements to ensure reliable, high-integrity data that enables actionable risk insights. Lead system demonstrations and UAT efforts for various stakeholder groups. Influence upstream design and downstream reporting decisions through expert guidance.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) and critical operational risk management lifecycle activities. Experience in application system development and process design. Experience in operational loss event capture, classification, reporting and root cause analysis; external loss analysis; regulatory reporting; scenario analysis and stress testing. 5 years of experience of working within regulatory frameworks for systemically important banks (e.g., Basel II, Basel III, stress testing and capital adequacy requirements). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends and evaluate risk scenarios effectively. Excellent project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact with all colleague levels, including the ability to educate stakeholders in the business on event management. Strong understanding of the importance of high-quality processes, continuous improvement and best practices.

ORMCM 

Annual Range: $80,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
