As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering - Java/React/AWS at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Data Technology Team, you will lead and mentor diverse technical teams, offering expert technical guidance. Your responsibilities include proactively identifying the needs and potential interdependencies of various functions across the organization. 

Job responsibilities

Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksBe accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresOwns the application and related functionalities, implementation, enhancements, new features etc. Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholdersIdentifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessaryProvides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the teamCreates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseExpertise with hands-on coding with Java, Microservices, React, Relational DB (PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, RDS, etc.)Experience leading teams of technologistsExperience with fault tolerant and highly distributed systemsAbility to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiativesExperience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talentIn-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systemsPractical cloud native experienceExperience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
