As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology team , you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.
Job responsibilities
Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksBe accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresProvides recommendations and insight on data management and governance procedures and intricacies applicable to the acquisition, maintenance, validation, and utilization of dataDesigns and delivers trusted data collection, storage, access, and analytics data platform solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable wayEnsures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholdersIdentifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessaryGenerates advanced data models for one or more teams using firm wide tooling, linear algebra, statistical and geometrical algorithmsDelivers data pipeline/architecture solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses/domainsCreates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills :
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise Experience leading teams of technologists along with hiring, developing, and recognizing talentExperience with a combination of PySpark, Databricks, AI/ML, Snowflake, Redshift, Data Lakes, Data products, Cloud Based Big data technologies and handling MetadataAdvanced understanding of database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy with practical experience in SQL and NoSQLAdvanced knowledge of AI/ML models Creates data models for complex applications and integrations while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by data engineering standards and software code developmentOversee the design, development, and implementation of data solutions using Databricks and AWS Glue.Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiativesAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency & SecurityEnsure the scalability, reliability, and performance of data pipelines and infrastructurePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
